Paul van Oss doesn’t like plastic chairs quiet as much as I do. In fact, he writes in hie flickr-set:

They take over the world….and are ugly, out of place.
Worst design, opting for eternity….a cultural heritage I don’t want to have.
You see them everywhere.

At least he’s doing a great job in documenting those plastic chairs and gives me as an collector and curator the chance to document this cultural heritage and proof his point, that they take over the world.

And while updating the Plastic Chair World Map I figured out, although this is this’ blogs 50th post, I still got a long way to go, if you take the letter B’s list of countries as an example:

  • Bahamas – Commonwealth of The Bahamas
  • Bahrain – Kingdom of Bahrain
  • Bangladesh – People’s Republic of Bangladesh
  • Barbados
  • Belarus – Republic of Belarus
  • Belgium – Kingdom of Belgium
  • Belize
  • Benin – Republic of Benin
  • Bhutan – Kingdom of Bhutan
  • Bolivia – Plurinational State of Bolivia
  • Bosnia and Herzegovina
  • Botswana – Republic of Botswana
  • Brazil – Federative Republic of Brazil
  • Brunei – State of Brunei, Abode of Peace
  • Bulgaria – Republic of Bulgaria
  • Burkina Faso
  • Burma – Republic of the Union of Myanmar
  • Burundi – Republic of Burundi

So go ahead and share your plastic chair pictures. Even from countries which don’t start with a B.

Catie got up early in the dusk to take this moody black-and-white-shot:

This plastic chair was shot in Villaverde, Fuerteventura. I took a bunch of b/w pics at that time and I don’t remember the color of this chair. The photo was taken early in the morning behind the house I stayed at – I was actually looking for the perfect angle to shoot
